Downed-site rescue and website care

A website going down doesn't announce itself. It stops getting visits, stops getting messages, and you usually find out because a customer mentions it in passing. By then it's been offline for days and Google has already noticed.

Why sites go down, in order of frequency

An expired certificate is first: the browser stops opening it and shows a red warning screen. Second is an unrenewed domain, which also has a clock on it — after a grace period it's released and anyone can buy it. Third is the provider switching it off over an unpaid invoice, or because they shut down.

All three have something in common: they aren't technical faults, they're warnings that went to an inbox nobody reads any more. That's why the first thing we do when rescuing a site is put the domain and the email in your name.

What gets lost and what doesn't

If your provider is about to close the site, there's a window to pull out the text, the photos and the structure before they vanish. After that there's no copy and it has to be rebuilt from scratch, which costs a good deal more than €120.

What almost nobody checks when switching providers is what Google already had indexed. Changing domain or host without redirects amounts to starting from zero in search: the old addresses return errors and the ranking that took years stays behind.

What the care plan covers, in writing

Hosting, managed domain, certificate and updates, with no lock-in. The hour of changes a month on the Care plan is in the contract, not promised verbally: that's the difference between an hour that exists and an hour that gets negotiated every time you ask for it.

Plus a monthly three-number report on what the site did. Three, not forty: a dashboard with forty charts is a dashboard nobody opens.

What it costs

Prices exclude VAT.

Questions we get

My site is down right now. How fast can you move?
Diagnosis the same day. Bringing it back, three to five days depending on the cause: a certificate or hosting issue is quick, an expired domain depends on the registrar's timeline and that isn't ours to control.
I have access to nothing. Whoever built it kept everything.
That's the most common case and there's a way out. A domain can be recovered by proving the business is yours, even if it's registered to someone else. It involves paperwork and sometimes weeks, so the sooner it starts the better.
Can I take the care plan without having bought the site from you?
Yes, if the site is built on something we can maintain. We check first and tell you: maintaining someone else's work sight unseen is how promises get made that later don't hold.
Is there a minimum term?
No. It's month to month and you can stop whenever. What stops when the fee stops is the hosting, the certificate and the updates; the code and the design stay yours.

A one-page report within 48 hours: what your site takes to load, what breaks on a phone, and the three things costing you the most customers. No call, no commitment.
